Fashioned from a Ford/Mazda collaboration in effect since 1994, the B-Series (comprised of popular models like the B3000 and B4000) was essentially a Ford Ranger wearing different clothes. This shared relationship dates back to the early 70's when Ford rolled out the compact Courier pickup, otherwise known as a Mazda wearing Ford nameplates. Each manufacturer made their own pickups through the 80's and 90's, but were reunited in the mid-'90s. This time, Ford provided the running gear and the body styling was more distinctive to each brand. As almost all truck models have grown in dimensions over the years, the Ford/Mazda B-Series has resisted this trend by remaining a compact pickup for its entire life.
